Youth Package #1: Loving Literature
It’s common for youth to think literature is dull, boring, or confusing. What if poetry could be fun? What if poetry could be theatrical and compelling? What if youth loved poetry the same way they enjoy listening to their favorite music?
- Cynthia will share spoken word poetry from her packet of prepared poetry pieces. She will recite the poetry of famous authors like Maya Angelou and Claude McKay. The poems help students understand the power of poetry and its ability to inform, advocate, and inspire change.
- She follows up poem recitations or spoken word pieces with an analysis that relates the poem to current life. Rather than helping students understand the complexities of poetry structure, Cynthia’s focus is inspiring youth to enjoy reading. If they learn to love the written word, they will be motivated to explore literature in life and the classroom.
Youth Package #2: Public Speaking: Sharing Her Story
Cynthia will share her personal story and the challenges she endured as a teenager to study effectively and pursue an education. She will share a timeline of facing challenges and achieving her Bachelor of Science degree from Kennesaw State University. This story will include recitations of spoken word poetry and storytelling to captivate the audience. This story will inspire students to never give up. Whether it’s persevering through the stress of education, family life, failed friendships, or creative talent, Cynthia will empower youth (students) to push through a painful past and believe in a brighter future.
Youth Package #3: Success in Leadership, Career, & Creativity
Cynthia Will Focus Her Speaking Engagement on 3 Categories:
- Leadership Training 2. Job Interview Skills 3. Creative Calling
- Leadership Training: Learn how to develop the mindset of a leader!
- Job Interview Skills: Learn how to succeed in a job interview and write an excellent resume!
- Creative Calling: Learn how to be confident in your talent and creative with your purpose!
The group speaking engagement is interactive, practical, fun, and insightful!
Youth Package #4: Vision Board Design
Every leader who has ever been successful wrote down their vision before accomplishing their goals.
- Cynthia will explain why it’s important to have a vision for your life. Cynthia will share a brief presentation and 1 poem related to developing a vision.
- Cynthia will lead the group in a vision board creation activity, while personally mentoring youth throughout the process.
- Students will have their own vision board design upon completion of the engagement.
(*Materials must be purchased and provided by the organization. The engagement is limited to 2 hours and 30 minutes. 2 hours and 30 minutes is sufficient time for completion of the vision board activity. However, additional fees apply for extended time at a $16 per 30 minute rate.)

Aviahna (11 Years Old) created her first book of poetry through Cynthia’s guidance and Jordan (14 Years Old) received the opportunity to perform poetry at the Center for Civil and Human Rights in Atlanta, Georgia.
